Shree Khodiyar Mandir Rajpara, Bhavanagar

In 1911 CE, the Maharaja of Bhavnagar built the Shree Khodiyar Mata Mandir. Khodiyar Maa, a Hindu warrior goddess who was born in the Charan caste circa 700 AD, is honoured at this temple. She served as both the ancestor goddess and the primary divinity of the Bhavnagar royal line.

ભાવનગર રાજકોટ – હાઈવે પર આવેલા રાજપરા ગામના સુંદર તાતણીયા તળાવના કિનારે ખોડીયાર મંદિર આવેલું છે.

હાઇવે થી મંદિર તરફ જતાં એક કિલોમીટર જેટલું અંતર છે. ખોડીયાર મંદિર સંકુલ લગભગ ૩૮,૪૩૦ ચોરસવાર વિસ્તારમાં ફેલાયેલું છે.

આખા ખોડીયાર મંદિર સંકુલનું કેન્દ્ર ખોડીયાર માતાજીનું મંદિર છે. બાજુમાં ટેકરી છે જેની ઉપર ૭ દેવીની દેરી છે. મા ખોડીયાર તથા સાત બહેનો ની પ્રતિષ્ઠા થયેલી છે.

દૂર દૂરથી આવતા શ્રદ્ધાળુઓ યાત્રિકો મંદિરમાં પ્રવેશે માતાજીના દર્શન કરે છે, શ્રીફળ વગેરે પ્રસાદી માતાજીને શણગાર ધરે છે લાપસી સુખડી પેંડા મગ વગેરેથી નિવેદ કરે છે અને પવિત્રતાના વાતાવરણમાં ધન્યતા અનુભવે છે.

આજે રાજપરા ખોડીયાર મંદિર લાખો લોકો માટે શ્રદ્ધા આસ્થા અને વિશ્વાસનું પ્રતિક બની ગયું છે. સંત શૂરવીર અને ભક્તોની ભૂમિ ગણાતી ગોહિલવાડની ધરતી પર વસેલા માતા ખોડીયાર ના પવિત્ર ધામે પ્રતિદિન લાખો લોકોનો ઘસારો રહેતો હોય છે.

દર શનિવારે અને સોમવારની સાંજથી દૂર-દૂરના શ્રદ્ધાળુઓ મા ખોડીયારની પગપાળા યાત્રાએ નીકળી પડે છે. જેથી તેઓ રવિવાર અને મંગળવારે વહેલી સવારે મંદિર પહોંચી માતાજીના દર્શન કરે છે. ખાસ કરીને દર રવિવારે મંગળવારે પૂનમ તથા જાહેર રજાના દિવસે આ મંદિરે મેળા જેવું વાતાવરણ હોય છે

History of Rajpara Shree Khodiyar Mandir

આઈ શ્રી ખોડિયાર માતા ગોહિલ રાજપૂતો માટે ‘સહાયક દેવી’ છે. શ્રી ખોડિયાર માતા કેવી રીતે ગોહિલની ‘સહાયક દેવી’ બની તે અંગે ઘણી લોકવાયકાઓ છે.

૧૩મી સદીમાં મહારાજા રણજી ગોહિલે વણા ગામનો કબજો લીધો હતો. તે સમયે શ્રી ખોડિયાર માતાને ‘લોકદેવી’ માનવામાં આવતા હતા.

ગોહિલ શાસકો ખૂબ જ ભક્તિભાવ ધરાવતા હતા. એવું માનવામાં આવે છે કે મહારાજા વખાતસિંહજી શ્રી ખોડિયાર માતાના ભક્ત હતા. તેમણે રાજપરામાં માતાનું એક નાનું મંદિર બનાવ્યું, જેની મુલાકાત ઘણા વર્ષો પછી પણ ચાલુ રહી.

મહારાજા કૃષ્ણકુમારસિંહજી અવારનવાર ખોડીયાર મંદિરે પધારતા. તેમણે આ આખું મંદિર તૈયાર કરાવ્યું. મંદિરના સ્થળે પીવાના પાણીની વ્યવસ્થા કરાવી. તેમજ ખોડીયાર મંદિર થી ખોડીયાર રેલ્વે સ્ટેશન જવાના રોડ નું કામ પણ તેમણે કરાવ્યું . યાત્રિકોને રહેવા માટે તે સમયે રેલવે સ્ટેશન પાસે ધર્મશાળા બંધાવી. રેલ્વે સ્ટેશન થી ખોડીયાર મંદિર જતા રસ્તામાં દવાખાનુ બંધાવ્યું. ઉપરના ભાગે પહાડીઓની ગિરિમાળામાં મોટું તળાવ બંધાવી ભાલ વિસ્તારમાં તમામ વન્ય પ્રાણીઓને પાણી મળે તેવી વ્યવસ્થા કરી. તે માટે ઓટોમેટિક પાઇપ લાઇન નાખી વગર પંપ પાણી પહોંચાડવાની વ્યવસ્થા કરી જે આજે પણ છે.

મંદિર અને તેની સુવિધાઓમાં સતત સુધારો કરવા માટે મહારાજા કૃષ્ણકુમારસિંહજીએ ૧૯૫૩ માં ખોડિયાર મંદિર ટ્રસ્ટની સ્થાપના કરી. તેમના સિદ્ધાંતો અને મૂલ્યોને જાળવી રાખતા, ટ્રસ્ટ ત્યારથી સક્રિય છે.
