તુલશીશ્યામ અમરેલી થી ૪૫ કિમી દુર અને જુનાગઢ થી ૧૨૩ કિમી ઉના તાલુકામાં આવેલું છે. તુલશીશ્યામ શ્રી કૃષ્ણના શામળિયા સ્વરૂપનું મંદિર છે. અહિયા રાત રોકવાની વ્યવસ્થા પણ છે. જુનાગઢ થી સતાધાર રસ્તે તુલશીશ્યામ પહોંચી શકાય તો ઉના થી પણ કોડીનાર થઇ તુલસી શ્યામ પહોંચી શકાય છે. ગાઢ જંગલ અને ગિરિઓની વચ્ચે આવેલ આ ધાર્મિક સ્થળ ઉપરાંત પ્રયત્ન સ્થળ તરીકે જાણીતી છે.

ધાર્મિક માહાત્મ્ય :

આ જગ્યાનું પૌરાણિક માહાત્મ્ય રહેલું છે. સ્વર્ગના દેવો અને ભગવાન વિષ્ણુ સાથે જોડાયેલી છે આ જગ્યા. અહીં જાલંધરની પત્ની વૃંદા તુલસી રૂપે અને ભગવાન વિષ્ણું શ્યામ સ્વરૂપે બિરાજમાન હોવાથી આ જગ્યાનું નામ તુલસીશ્યામ પડ્યું છે.

આ મંદિરના દર્શન માટે 400 પગથિયા ચડી ડુંગર પર જવું પડે.  અહીં આવેલા ગરમ પાણીના કુંડની માહાત્મ્ય પણ એટલું જ રહેલું છે, શિળાયો હોય, ચોમાસું હોય કે ઉનાળો હોય આ કુંડનું પાણી ગરમ જ રહે છે. આવી માન્યતા છે કે આ કુંડમાં સ્નાન કરવાથી ચર્મ રોગીના રોગ દૂર થઈ જાય છે. 

ગ્રેવિટી પ્લેસ :

તુલસીશ્યામ જંગલમાં આવેલ સૌથી વધુ ગુરુત્વાકર્ષણ બળની વિરુદ્ધ ધરાવતું સ્થળ છે. કે જ્યાં ઢાળ વાળા રસ્તા પર કોઈપણ ઇંધણ કે ચાલક ન હોય તો પણ ને બ્રેક વગર ગાડી એમ જ ચાલતી જાય છે. અહી જમીનમાં એટલું ગુરુત્વાકર્ષણ બળ વિરુદ્ધ હોવાના કારણે અહીથી પસાર થતી ગાડીને જકડી રાખે છે. જે અહી આવતા પ્રવાસીઓ માટે રહસ્યમય ઘટના અને અનુભવ થાય છે.

ક્યારે અને ક્યાં સમયે જઈ શકાય ?

ગાઢ જંગલ અને રમણીય ટેકરીઓ વચ્ચે આવેલ તુલસી શ્યામ આમ તો આખું વર્ષ જઈ શકાય છે પરંતુ વન વિભાગની પરવાનગી લઇ સવારથી સાંજ સુધી જ આ જંગલ માં આવ જા કરી શકાય , જો કે તુલસી શ્યામમાં રાતવાસો કરવાની સગવડ છે આથી જો કોઈ પ્રવાસી રાત રોકાવા માંગતા હોય તો રોકાઈ શકે છે પરંતુ જંગલ માં રસ્તાઓ પર સાંજ છ પછી રોકવાની સખ્ત મનાઈ છે . કારણકે સાંજ પછી અહી સિંહોની અવર જવર વધુ થતી હોય છે . જેથી તેમને ખલેલ ન પહુંચે એ માટે તુલસી શ્યામ સાંજ પછી જવાની મનાઈ હોય છે.

ગરમ પાણીના કુંડ : આકર્ષણ સાથે રહસ્યમય સ્થાન :

તુલસી શ્યામ મંદિરના પટાંગણમાં આવેલ ગરમ પાણીના કુંડ પ્રવાસીઓ માટે સૌથી રહસ્યમય અને કુતુહુલ ઉભું કરે છે . આસપાસ ના જંગલોમાં વહેતી નદીઓ માં સતત ઠંડા પાણી વહી રહ્યા છે અને આ સ્થળે આવેલ આ કુંડ માં ગરમ પાણી એ પણ વરાળ નીકળતું સૌ કોઈ માટે કુતુહલ ઉભું કરે છે. અહી આવતા ધમ્રિક યાત્રાળુઓ પહેલા અહી સ્નાન કરે છે અને પછી જ મંદિર માં પ્રવેશ કરે છે. સતત ગરમ પાણીના કુંડ માં લોકો ચોખાની પોટલી પધરાવી ભાત પકવે છે અને પ્રસાદી રૂપે ઘરે લઇ જાય છે.
